 Put the liquid in first. Surrounded by water or juice, the blender blades can move freely. Next, add your greens, with chunks of fruit or vegetables going into the pitcher last.

Start slow. If your blender has speeds, start it on low to break up big pieces of fruit, then work your way up to high for a puree. For blenders with function buttons, pulse a few times before switching to puree mode.

Similar to green juice, green smoothies are often a blend of vegetables and fruit. The fruit (and whatever other flavors you add) will usually mask the flavor of any vegetables so it is a great place to start! Try adding some spinach into your smoothie - it will be bright green but impossible to taste!

My favorite combination is: 1/2 banana + frozen berries + kale + protein powder + almond milk.
Spinach Smoothie Recipe with Fruit:-
If you’re looking for a healthy smoothie, this is it!  It’s not a super sweet smoothie but it’s really good.  If you want it a bit sweeter just add more pineapple juice or orange juice.

To be honest, I had heard of people putting spinach in their smoothies for a while now but had never tried it myself.  The idea of drinking spinach just didn’t appeal to me, but my brother-in-law talked me into trying it and I must say I am glad he did.  The spinach in this smoothie was not overpowering at all and the thing I liked the best was completely unexpected.  After I drank it I wasn’t hungry for hours!  This smoothie was filling and sustaining.

Then there is the nutritional benefit this smoothie offers.  There is 10.6 grams of dietary fiber per serving in this smoothie.  I think that explains my not being hungry for hours after enjoying this wonderful beverage. This smoothie also provides 66% of your RDA for Vitamin A and 201% of your RDA for Vitamin C.  Vitamin A is excellent for eye site and acts as an antioxidant to help boost your immune system.  Vitamin C is also best known for boosting your immune system and we all could use the extra help!  The last thing I’ll mention is the iron content; this smoothie offers 11% of your RDA.  That is pretty impressive considering this is something you drink!

This Fruity Spinach Smoothie passed the test for us in taste and nutrition.  Go ahead and give it a try!  Green is Good!

Ingredients:

    1 cored Apple
    2 cups packed spinach
    ½ cup Greek yogurt
    1/3 cup Orange Juice
    2 Tbs Ground Flax Seed
    ½ Tbs Honey
    6 oz Pineapple Juice
    1 ½ oranges
    1 Banana (frozen)
    1 ½ Cups of ice

Green Monster Smoothie:-
"Great post-workout snack that will keep you filled for hours! The taste of the banana and the peanut butter cover the taste of the spinach completely. I freeze my bananas and spinach then prepackage everything for the week! Substitutions include rice or nut milks or vanilla yogurt."

    1 cup fat-free milk

    1/2 cup fat-free plain yogurt

    1 banana, frozen and chunked

    1 tablespoon natural peanut butter

    2 cups fresh spinach

    1 cup ice cubes (optional)

Directions

    Blend milk, yogurt, banana, peanut butter, spinach, and ice cubes until smooth.
 
Sweet Potato and Banana Smoothie:-
"Sweet potato smoothie with banana and cinnamon."

    1 large sweet potato

    1 banana

    2 cups soy milk

    1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Directions

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
    Bake sweet potato in the preheated oven until tender and cooked through, about 1 hour. Remove peel from cooked sweet potato and cool in the refrigerator 8 hours or overnight.
    Blend sweet potato, banana, soy milk, and cinnamon together in a blender until smooth.
